There are many good reasons to join Roxburgh Reivers, in no particular order – be part of a successful club, wear our club colours, compete at team events, get event information, coaching from club members, social events, the banter !

Joining the club is easy – just go to the British Orienteering Federation website, complete your details and either print/post the form or send it electronically. This gives you membership of Roxburgh Reivers, the Scottish Orienteering Association and the British Orienteering Federation. If you join after the 1st September 2009 your membership will not expire until the 31st December 2010 and there’s a £1 discount if you agree to pay the annual subscription by Direct Debit.

There are two levels of membership – Local or National. The main difference is a £2 discount on entry fees for many events and applies within Scotland for Local members and UK-wide if you’re a National Member. If you’re just starting out in the sport and won’t be travelling outwith Scotland then Local will probably suit you best. However, if you intend travelling a bit further to say the Lake District or Northumberland then you might benefit by being a National Member.

Main benefits of becoming a Local Member of British Orienteering:

* Bi-Annual “Local Focus” Newsletter
* Discounted entry to regional and local events in your club’s Association (i.e. Scotland)

* Papers and vote at the British Orienteering AGM
* Bi-monthly Scottish newsletter (currently produced by Douglas Tullie of Roxburgh Reivers !)
* Papers and vote at the Scottish Orienteering Association AGM.
